Summary
The fragment is of a printed gradual from the 15th century. The notation is printed, and the chants preserved on the fragment are associated with the first Saturday in Lent. It is in situ, forming the binding of an early mordern musical manuscript (ca. 1600). The shelfmark RARA Musik L 42 consists of four such booklets. All are bound in waste parchment, but only the first volume's binding (127) is made from this printed gradual. Of the other three, one is bound in a manuscript missal (F-mdfq), and the other two have covers made from a copy of Cicero's De Natura Deorum (F-g13y and F-x06a).
