Summary
The seller’s label can be linked to G. David, Bookseller, Cambridge. According to the label, the leaf is from a Book of hours that follows the Use of Paris. The number '74' is written in the bottom left corner (verso).
Contents: The text is the Hours of the Holy Spirit, beginning partway through the suggested prayers and psalms for Terce and continuing to Nones.
Decoration: Five 2-line and four 1-line initials in gold on alternate blue or rose grounds with ovals painted in the opposite colour heightened with white pen work. Matching line fillers. Marginal panel (recto) of acanthus tendrils in blue and gold and long-stemmed flowers painted on a diagonal panel of liquid gold.
