The end of the Gospel Reading for St. Luke and the beginning of the Gospel Reading for St. Matthew, from a fifteenth-century Book of Hours known as the St. Alexis Hours. Full border of acanthus and rinceaux in gold and colors with birds and other creatures. Roundel miniature in the outer central margin of recto and verso. Recto: St. Matthew writing, dipping his quill into an inkwell held by an angel; Verso: Magi before Herod enthroned. Dismembered in the 1990s. This leaf offered by Charles Puckett Rare Books, stock number IM-1489, current location unknown.
