Original Condition
Current Condition
A single leaf has been detached, trimmed as repurposed as a cover for one side of the binding of its host volume. The profile of this relitively small volume is still outlined by the folds of the turn-ins, once glued down to the boards.
-
The greater discolouration on the side of the leaf labelled here as the dorse indicates that this section originally faced outwards when still attached to its host volume.
-
A fragment that once covered the spine of the host volume is also included. There are traces of the volume's title in ink, however it is heavily faded and no longer readable.
Book Decoration and Musical Notation
Two three-line penwork initials (a 'Q' and 'E') in red with pen-flourishing in blue. One three-line penwork intial in black with a drawing of a male face.
-
Rubrics in red.
Square notation on four-line red staves.
