Provenance: The Library acquired the fragment from Alfred Reed (1875 – 1975), a benefactor of the library since 1948. Reed purchased it from English bookseller Alan G. Thomas (catalogue 16 (1965), no. 12b). It came from the partially dismembered and imperfect parent manuscript (164 leaves, several mutilated) Thomas bought at the Sotheby & Co Western and Oriental Manuscripts and Miniatures sale on 6 July 1964 (lot. 246) for 280 pounds.
