This description was prepared as part of the course „Medieval history goes digital! Storytelling, Digital Humanities and History as a Puzzle with Handwritten Fragments“ in the winter semester 2021/2022 at the University of Erfurt with the students of the Bachelor's program in History.
A sincere and profound expression of gratitude goes to Hendrik Ahrend and Reinhard Böllmann, without whose vast expertise regarding organs and without the contribution of so many pictures, such a detailed description of the history and context of the "host volume" would not have been possible.
In addition, sincere thanks are due to Chiara Francesca Faraggiana di Sarzana, who contributed a great amount of information on the state of research of fragments in musical instruments in Italy.
