Summary
This fragment comes from an as yet unidentified Middle Dutch chivalric romance romance in rhymed couplets that does not seem to have survived in any other form. The proper names names that are mentioned in the text (Karel, Baudet, Fromont/Vromont, Baldijn, Effrage, Fodaer, and Tyba(u)[t]) suggest that the original text belonged to the epic genre of Charlemaine stories.
