Summary
The leaf was purchased from Folio Fine Art - the original seller's label affixed to the mounting card is preserved. The seller's stock numbering is inscribed in pencil in the lower margin (recto) 'MS. 1157'. Additional notations partially erased.
Contents: Hours of the Virgin - Matins, 2nd Nocturn. The text begins partway through Lesson 6, continuing to Lesson 7.
Decoration: One 2-line and three 1-line initials in burnished gold on blue or pink grounds with ovals painted in the opposite colour and heightened with white. Matching line filler. Marginal panel (recto) of acanthus tendrils in blue and gold with long-stemmed blue, rose and red flowers painted on particoloured liquid gold grounds with scalloped edging.
