Summary

....speravi tu exaudies me.../[no image of verso]. Penitential Psalms, Psalm 37:16 "speravi" - 20 "autem mei vivent," from a fifteenth-century Book of Hours known as the St. Alexis Hours. Full border of acanthus and rinceaux in gold and colors with birds and other creatures. Roundel miniature in the outer central margin of recto and verso. Recto: Crowned man enthroned labeled "le[m]p[er]e[ur]", a richly-dressed woman standing before him labeled "le[m]p[er]is", accompanied by a male servant; [no image of verso]. On the recto, historiated initial [O] with a nobly-gowned woman standing on a path gazing a a heavenly aperture above. Dismembered in the 1990s. This leaf offered by Christie's 9 Dec. 2020, lot 13, current location unknown.
