Summary
The Old French text dates from the middle of the 13th century and shows Picard features. 'Nos avrons awan un yver ymbreus, c'est a dire pluvieus et tempestieus, le estet sec, le vendenge laborieus. Femes morunt, nees perilleront. Rois et prinches morunt.'
Translation: 'We will have a wet winter, which will be rainy and stormy. The summer will be dry, the harvest difficult. Women will die, children will die. Kings and princes will die.'
