Summary

This original illuminated parchment cover shows the arms of the frontmen of the 'Ghedele' bench of the aldermen of Ghent. A number of these were removed from their original covers at the end of the nineteenth century and pasted onto cardboard to be exhibited in the city hall. They were also shown at the 1913 World Exhibition in Ghent.
