...et nous requier conseil et aide.../...Sire si comme ce fu voir regardes... Part of the French prayer "Biau Sire Dieu," from a fifteenth-century Book of Hours known as the St. Alexis Hours. Full border of acanthus and rinceaux in gold and colors with birds and other creatures. Roundel miniature in the outer central margin of recto and verso. Recto: two figures, one in a blue robe, captioned “povre,” the other in a red shirt and black pants. The background is a yellow hill with trees and a blue sky; Verso: one figure in a red shirt, black pants, and black hat, looking over his right shoulder and gesturing out, captioned “lestvier.”
