Provenance

The host volume was printed in 1586 in Losk – at that time in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, today in the region of Minsk, Belarus.

Until 1616 it belonged to a certain "Thoma Pisecki de Martowicz": "<sub rasura:> Hunc... libellum... Thoma Pisecki de Martowicß est A. 1616...", and, by a different hand, "dono accepi à Domino Thoma Pisecki de Martowicz. A° 1616 in Martio" (front flyleaf). Probably this owner wrote "Emptus groß. 10" on the front pastedown. 

Finally, the owner of the book was Joachim Stegmann: "Ex libris Joachimi Stegmanni" (ibid.). Joachim Stegmann (Potsdam 1595-Cluj 1633), was a German theologian, Bible translator, mathematician. Rector of Academy of Rakow (Poland). He moved to Cluj in 1633, but died in the same year and left his books to the Unitarian College.

Another owner added: "Possesssor Stanislaus Goydanzwski? 1639" (ibid.). Perhaps he, too, was a member of the Racovian Academy, who moved to Transylvania in 1638, when the academy was dissolved. 

The book eventually entered the collection of the Unitarian College in Cluj: "Ecclesie Unitariensis Claudiopolitanae" (title page), and stamp on the verso of the title page.
