Collation

The extant fol. numbers and the flow of the text allow us to collate the fols as follows: 78r (pasted to the board of the back cover of vol. I), 78v (visible on the back cover of vol. I), 79r ('lxxxix', visible on the front cover of vol. II), 79v (pasted to the board of the front cover of vol. II), [80, singleton], 81r (pasted to the board of the back cover of vol. II, but 'lxxxj' visible in the turn-in), 81v (visible on the back cover of vol. II), 82r ('lxxxij' visible on the front cover of vol. I), 82v (pasted to the board of the front cover of vol I). Thus, we have two inner bifolia: vol. I: ff. 78 & 82; vol. II: ff. 79 & 81.

History

Origin

Palaeography and the origin of the host volumes, printed in Venice, suggest an Italian origin.

Provenance

The host volumes were printed in Venice in 1520, and were not owned by any individual before entering the collection of the Jesuit College of Cluj, where they were attested in 1604: "Collegii Soc. Jesu Claudiopoli 1604" (f. aai recto of both volumes). In 1833, they belonged to the Catholic Royal High School of Cluj (ibid.).
