Content Description
At the beginning of the Cod. 60 (last numbering) from the MS collection of the Patriarchal library of Alexandria, we encounter two parchment folios and three more paper ones in situ front flyleaves.
The two front parchment flyleaves derive from the same MS, but with a lacuna between the first and the second one. The surviving folios provide fragmentary text from two different parts from one Homilia of Epiphanius, (Greek: Ἐπιφάνιος) Saint, Bishop of Constantia (Salamis), the Metropolis of Cyprus, ca. 310-403.
Content of the 1st folio : The first 27 lines are unidentified. The 28th line is a decorative caption which separates the first from the second text. After that, at the 29th line, we find the beginning of one Homilia by Saint Epiphanius of Constantia.
The extended title of the Homilia, as we can find in PG 43, col. 339/ 440 is : Homilia II. Sancti Patris nostri Epiphanii episcopi Cypri oratio in divini corporis sepulturam Domini et Servatoris nostri Jesu Christi, et in Josephum qui fuit ab Arimathæa, et in Domini in infernum descensum, post salutarem passionem admirabiliter factum. Sancto et magno Sabbato.
Explicit f. 1v, 2nd col., lines 35-40 (PG 43, col.
The second piece:
f. 2r, 1st col., lines 1-4 (PG 43, col.
Explicit f. 2v, 2nd col., lines 34-40 (very hard legible text) (PG 43, col.
