This is the description provided in the Maggs sales catalogue. The fragment is listed no. 53 and illustrated (plate XVII). It is marked as sold, suggesting that the sale was negotiated immediately prior to the printing, too late to drop it from the catalogue. The connection with Ege is not noted in the description.
Written in handsome large Gothic characters, with ornamental capitals.
From an unusually fine book of devotions; evidently a de-luxe production, and probably commissioned for a special gift.
Book Decoration and Musical Notation
With initials and leafy stems in gold and colours forming half borders.
