Reconstruction Summary

The cutting is from a Lectionary listed for sale, priced at 45 pounds, in Erik von Scherling's Rotulus: A Bulletin for Manuscript-collectors, IV (Winter, 1937), no. 1849. It was described as being imperfect, numbering 161 leaves, and missing at least 21 leaves. Some of the leaves are included in Otto F. Ege's "Fifty Original Leaves from Medieval Manuscripts", compiled in the 1940s. The Lectionary is listed as no. 3 of the exemplars.

The Library purchased this fragment from Maggs Bros, Bulletin 11 (November 1982), no. 20. On the recto, the notations [MC 26] cat 39 are written in pencil in the upper margin, and the number 58 is in the left corner.
