Part of Matins and Prime from the Hours of the Holy Spirit from a fifteenth-century Book of Hours, known as the St. Alexis Hours. Full border of acanthus and rinceaux in gold and colors with a bird on the bottom center. Roundel miniature in the outer center margin of recto and verso. Recto: A man and a woman speaking to a man in a robe and crown, identified as "le[m]p[er]eur" [Emperor]. Verso: Two men are kneeling before the Emperor, who is standing in front of them. The first man (in blue) is labeled "tirans". This leaf is currently part of a private collection in Akron, Ohio.
