Fragments from a manuscript containing once several Old Testament books (Tobias, Judith, Esther, and Esra). According to the palaeographical analysis it was written in the first quarter of the 9th century in Mondsee Abbey (Bischoff).
In the 15th century, the original manuscript landed at the hands of the bookbinders, who used the parchment leaves to reinforced the bindings of other Mondsee manuscripts. In the 19th century, librarians in the ÖNB detached the fragments from their host volumes. The larger pieces were bound together in Cod. 15346. Further smaller fragments (predominantly sewing guards) are preserved today under the shelfmarks: Fragm. 1572, Fragm. 1582, Fragm. 1583, Fragm. 1589, Fragm. 1590, Fragm. 1763. One pastedown is still in situ in Cod. 1754.
