Summary
Kalends Aoust Juillet / S' Germain ... July calendar page from the St. Alexis Book of Hours, created in the 15th century. The full border of acanthus and rinceaux in blue, green, gold, and red show birds and raspberries. Roundel miniatures at the center of the outer margin on the recto and verso. Recto roundel shows the labor of the month, the harvest of grain, and the verso shows the zodiac Leo. Manuscript dismembered before the 1980s. This leaf is part of the Grinnell College Museum of Art's collection, in Grinnell, Iowa, shelf mark 1987.059.
