Summary
Because of their vulnerability, preserved scrolls are rare, especially scrolls with secular literature in Middle Dutch. (Usually they are associated with rhymed prayers.) These are fragments of such a profane scroll. They contain proverbial stanzas (with the rhyme scheme aabccd), mainly about courtly love and didactic themes. It concerns a South-Limburgian copy of an East-Flemish/Brabantine proverb collection. (Flandrica, 2021)
