Summary

A double leaf from a breviary, that served as a pastedown in a binding from the Augustinerchorherrenstift St. Zeno in Reichenhall, Germany. The host volume - Cod. 3630 - travelled to the Mondsee Abbey and is part of the Austrian National Library collection since the dissolution of the monastery in the late 18th c.

Fragments exhibiting the same codicological and palaeographical features and therefore possibly belonging once to the same original breviary are: Vienna, ÖNB, Cod. 3615 (sewing guards), Cod. 3617 (sewing guards), and Cod. 3630 (front pastedown, flange and sewing guards. The bindings of Cod. 3615 and Cod. 3617 are however products of the Mondsee workshop.
