Summary
Provenance: The fragment is part of the David and Marion Adams Collection which was gifted to the Library in 2011.
Text: Part of the Litany of Saints, with invocations to selected apostles, evangelists, disciples and martyrs (incipit Sancte luce ora pro nobis - explicit Sancte siluester ora).
Decoration: The initial 'S' of Sancte in gold with an extension into the margin, set on alternately red, maroon or blue grounds. Line fillers of artfully modelled twigs or coloured bars embellished in gold. Panel border decorated with acanthus foliage in blue and gold with long-stemmed daisies and blue flowers.
