Host Volume
The fragments were used as flyleaves in a register of the assizes of beer in the city of Antwerp kept between 1 August - 31 October 1570 ('Tderde quaertier Jan de P[oortere ...] begonst prima aug. tot vltima Oct. 1570.'). The volume was kept by Jan Goidschalck and overseen by Jan de Poortere.
A modern paper slip with the inscription '1570-1' is attached to the leaves with string, referring to this origin.
