    • Remarks

Presumably part of the fifth part of the Spiegel Historiael by Lodewijk van Velthem. The text corresponds with 'Sente Bernards bloemen', a Middle Dutch florilegium of quotes by St Bernard of Clairvaux which may have been part of the fifth part of the Spiegel Historiael.

History

Remarks

Hand-drawn heraldic shield drawn across fol. 1v-4r resembles the coat of arms of Coenraet, Lord of Buren (Grimbergse oorlogen, v. 4910). Next to the shield, 'Landuur' is written in a 16th-century hand. The exact meaning of these pen notes are unknown, but these probably have something to do with earlier provenance.

Host Volume

Remarks

The fragments were used as bindings for archival documents of the Conseil de Flandre kept at the State Archives in Ghent. They were discovered by archivist Victor Gaillard in the nineteenth century and transferred to Ghent University Library between 1919 and 1921. Each leaf has a stamp of provenance on its recto side: 'Archives du Conseil de Flandre', 'Archives de l'Etat á Gand'.
