Conditions of Deposit On fol. [1]v, the note 'Coersel 1529 / iij october (8 die)' was added. This refers to the fact that the fragment was used to cover and protect the wax seal on a charter from Koersel dated October 8, 1529, which is still in the abbey's archives. The seal has left round marks on the parchment, which was folded over it, and the fragment was cut along the fold in order to fit around the strip of parchment to which the seal is attached. The rights to the parish of Koersel belonged to Averbode Abbey.
