    History

    Origin

The fragment may be of German origin, like the host volume, which was printed in Heidelberg in 1596.

    Provenance

In the 17th c. the book was offered by a certain Andreas Heuptius from Förstgen (Oberlausitz, Saxony) to a friend: "Exiguum hunc libellum amico suo Georgio Trautio (?) de suis danti... donabat Andreas Heuptius Förstgensis in sui perpetuam memoriam" (front flyleaf). Another German annotation on the verso of the front flyleaf mentions an Italian edition of Lycophron from 1720. Another owner was "F. S. Schul<erius>" (title page). In the 19th c., the book was purchased by the scholar Timotei Cipariu, who left it to the Central Archdiocesan Library of Blaj (stamp on front flyleaf).
