Northern gothica textualis. Double-compartment a is completely closed, resembling an 8. Second leg of the h is a descender, resting on the base line. Both slanted and straight ascender of d occur. Still some space between individual letters, e.g. separate double bs in 'ebbe'.

General Remarks

The strip is so narraow that there are hardly any complete words.

Provenance

Fragment volume was bought by Dutch collector and editor Jacobus Johannes Nieuwenhuyzen (d. 1862).

Remarks

Fragment was bound in a volume alongside different unrelated fragments of medieval and early modern manuscript fragments. The volume was disbanded in 2022, with all fragments being stored separately from that year onwards. All fragments can be found in Ghent University Library under the shelfmark HS.1667.
