Book Decoration and Musical Notation

Description

Plain initials, alternately in red and blue ink. Red rubrication.

Both fragments use roundels and lines linking them to represent the succession of Biblical locations and persons the text talks about. The reading order is from top to bottom.

Fragment F contains a schematic overview of the places where the Israelites lived while in the desert, which is represented by an arched blue sky.

Fragment G has two miniatures, one depicting Noah on the Ark (top) and the other the Binding of Isaac (bottom).
