Book Decoration and Musical Notation

Description

Two initials, each the height of the staff. One (for a verse) is made up of black "ribbon-like" scrolls, with pale shading in pink and yellow. The other, opening a responsory, is a narrow puzzle initial in red and blue, filled in with branching penwork in red and on a rectangular background filled with blue penwork

    Square notation in black on a red five-line staff. Narrow, downward-pointing custodes, and long tails on many musical notes. Narrow b-flats present in places.
