Remarks

The two strips were found in the binding by C. Serrure. Given their size, they were probably used as quire guards for the first and last quire of the small -16° book. The strip on the right has exactly the same hight as the upper cover and the holes in the parchment correspond to the sewing in the book, while the strip on the left corresponds to the size and sewing holes of the lower cover.
