Content Description
Fragment contains at parts of least two masses. The mass on fol. 98 is for an unknown feast, containing a (defective) reading from Colossians 3:1-3. The mass on fol. 101 is for Candlemas [2 February] ('In Purificatione sancte Marie') and contains a reading from Mark 1: 40-44.
Host Volume
Fragments was used as upper flyleaf for a register of the assizes of beer in the city of Antwerp kept between 1 May 1573 and 31 July 1573 ('Accssijns boeck vande binnen bier assijse der stadt van antwerpen beginnende den eersten dach meye anno 1573, Ende eyndende den leesten dach Julius daer naer van eenen quartier Jaers').
The volume was kept by controller Johannes Maechs, who had written down his name on both the inside of the cover ('Joes Maechs controlleur der stadt van antwerpen') as well as on fol. 98v of the fragment ('Iohannes Maechs').
A modern paper slip has been attached to the leaf with a rope, with the inscription '1573-3', referring to this origin.
