History

Origin

Cistercian abbey in Oliwa?

Provenance

Cistercian abbey in Oliwa

Persons and Institutions David Konarski (1564-1616) abbot in Oliwa (1589-1616)
Remarks

One of the first owners of the print Preclarum opusculum was David Konarski, abbot in Oliva (1589-1616), who probably donated the whole volume to the abbey's library. It remained there until the abbey was dissolved by the Prussian authorities in 1831. We do not know its further fate, it probably remained in Gdańsk.

It was included in the University Library in Toruń in 1945 or 1946 together with the post-German collections from Gdańsk.
