Biblia Vulgata
Deuteronomy 4:32-7:26
F-k8f4
The leaf underwent restoration in the 1980's, when the archive was under the supervision of Monsignor Ercole Agnoletti. The parchment wrapper was detached from the host volume, stretched, and tears and gaps were repaired with Japanese paper.
General Information
Carolingian minuscule.
Recto and verso of the folio are not of the same hand. The script of the recto appears more rounded, the scribe uses the extended form for the conjunction ET, the letter E instead of the diphthong AE, for example in 'Egyptus'. On the contrary the hand of the verso traces a slimmer and more pointed script. This scribe uses the archaic form of the amperstand & for the ET, the diphthong in the initial of Egyptus: "AEgyptus" or the ligature Æ: "Ægyptus".
