Noted missal
Mass for the feast of St Lawrence (10 August); Mass for the feast of St Gorgonius (9 September)
F-jrx5
General Information
Carolingian minuscule, in two different sizes (chants written in a smaller hand than the main text). Fol. [2] has some notes written in a northern gothica textualis currens that were added later.
The inclusion of a mass for St Gorgonius and German neumatic notation indicates that the manuscript possibly originated in the Low Countries (the diocese of Utrecht).
Original Condition
Current Condition
Much of the text has faded, making it difficult to read. Both leaves contains holes left by bookworms, presumably damage that came about when they were used as pastedowns.
Book Decoration and Musical Notation
Plain initials in blue ink, written in a column separate from the main text. Rubrics in blue ink.
Neumes in campo aperto.

History
Fragment was acquired by Museum Vleeshuis in 1894.
Host Volume
Both leaves were clearly used as pastedowns for an otherwise unidentified book. The contours of the turn-ins are clearly visible and wormholes indicate that the leaves were pasted onto wooden boards.
