Given the large margin at the bottom at the page, the size of the letters and the line height, this was a large choir book, measuring perhaps some 600 x 420 mm.

    Provenance

    The host book belonged to the Unitarian College of Cluj since the seventeenth or early eighteenth century ('Ecclesiae Unitariensis Claudiopolitanae', title page). However, the earliest owner of the book was, in 1594, a student from Trarbach, Rheinland-Pfalz: 'Inservio studiis Burckhardi Neureri Trarbacensis 1594 Mense Decembris' (front flyleaf). Subsequent owners, in the seventeenth century: <sub rasura> 'Christianus Ambrosius Rawnfeliensis?', 'Andreas Sertoris? Belendorfensis' (title page).
