Fragment consists of two loose parts of the same bifolium that have been stuck together with tape. First line of fol. [1]r has partially been trimmed away.
Book Decoration and Musical Notation
Description
Ornamental initial 'I' with marginal zoomorphic extension (dragon) with gilding and penwork (fol. [1]r). Gilded champ initials with red penwork (fol. [1]v, [2]r). Plain initial and versals, alternately in red, yellow and green ink across both pages.

History
Persons and Institutions Fragment were held by the State Archives in Ghent (both sides of the fragment have provenance stamps). The Fragment was transferred to the Ghent University Library, as part of an exchange agreement between the two insititutions in the late 19th and early 20th century.
