General Remarks

Labeled by the library as Italian, but several aspects of the letterforms and the five-line staff suggest it may be Iberian.

Vespers chants for use "per annum".

Mixture of music and text. Folio 1r is all music uses 6 staves, while 1v has  has 17 line of text. Folio 2 is a mixture of text and music on both sides.

Book Decoration and Musical Notation

Description

Many simple red initials: one line-height for the beginnings of verses, and three at the beginnings of text sections. Three chants begin with initials in elaborate black linework.
