The fragment consists of two strips that were part of the same leaf. The two strips were reattached with Japanese paper. The fragment has been mounted on paper and bound in a 20th-century codex, together with an offprint of the text's edition by Napoleon de Pauw.

Fragments were discovered in the University library of Ghent by J. J. Nieuwenhuyzen in 1839 in the binding of a 16th-century copy of Thucydides, De Bello Peloponnesiaco.
