The leaf was originally part of a devotional or liturgical manuscript, possibly a book of hours or psalter, based on the depicted imagery.
Original Condition
No text preserved; fol. [1]r contains the miniature, while fol. [1]v is empty.

Book Decoration and Musical Notation
Full-page miniature depicting the Coronation of the Blessed Virgin. The Virgin Mary is clad in blue, she receives the crown from an angel descending from Heaven. Next to her is Christ, depicted as a king holding the world, who crowns Mary.
The miniature is bordered by a gilded bar with spray.
History
The fragment was part of the collection of Henri Omont (1857-1940). The Omont collection was purchased by Leuven University around 1949-1950. This fragment was transferred to Leuven University Library around 1985.
