Book Decoration and Musical Notation

Description

From the library description: "Each Kyrie iteration begins with a large initial K (the first in brown and blue (incorporating a facial profile), accompanied by a flower, all against a red panel background decorated with a gold filigree pattern ; the others ornately knotted in black ink) ; the Gloria begins with a large decorated initial G (incorporating a female figure in the curve) against a blue panel decorated with a gold filigree pattern and depictions of a snail, bird and strawberry plant."

    Square notation on a five-line red staff; five staves per page. Downward custodes typical of Spanish sources.  Thick, bright blue lines at points of division.
