Gregory the Great, Moralia in Job
F-cpkx
General Information
Written by a single hand in an early form of Cursiva Antiquiores (Anglicana) from the thirteenth century, which includes a two-compartment a, a slightly angular 8-shaped g, loops to the right on the ascenders of b, h, k and l, as well as f and long s reaching below the baseline. The latter alternates between a long form, a round shape at the beginning or end of a word and a trailing one, which is normally used at word-end. Despite its cursive features, the script remains upright throughout, as is visible in the minims.
Fusion occurs regularly and a round shape of r with an extra hairline below the baseline is also used after o, alongside the characteristic v-shape used elsewhere. The script is heavily abbreviated and there are later annotations mostly in the bottom margin in a lighter, grey ink, also in a cursive, but different, hand. The page was probably laid out in two columns of 51-53 lines.
