The fragments are mounted on a paper strip and bound in a volume, together with handwritten notes by Willem De Vreese.
Fragm. A r contains the later-added note 'Doos AA no. 71'.
Book Decoration and Musical Notation
Plain initials, alternately in red and blue ink. Paraphs alternately in red and blue ink. Red rubrication. Yellow colour stroking.

History
Fragment was originally kept by St Jacob's Church, Ghent ('Afkomstig uit het Archief der Kamer Maria 't Eeren in [de] St. Jacobskerk te Gent' according to De Vreese). Fragment was transferred to Ghent University Library in 1900.
Host Volume
The original host volume is unknown; the strips were possibly used in either a thin booklet or archival register.
