Title Register of the assizes of beer in the city of Antwerp, for November 1567 - January 1568
Date of Origin/Publication 1 November 1567 - 31 January 1568
Place of Origin/Publication Antwerp

Persons Johannes Maechs (scribe, supervisor of the beer assizes)
Remarks

Leaf was possibly used as a flyleaf for a register of the assizes of beer in the city of Antwerp kept between 1 November 1567 and 31 January 1568 ('Assijs boeck vande binnen bier assijse der stadt van antwerpen beginnende den eersten dach nouember anno 1567 ende eindende den leesten dach Januarius daer nae van eenen quartier iaers').

The volume was kept by Johannes Maechs, according to a provenance mark in the inner upper cover ('Joes Maechs Controlleur der stadt Antwerpen'). Maechs had been controller of the Antwerp beer assizes before, between 1557 and 1561.

A paper leaf with the inscription '1567-2' was attached to the leaves with a string, referring to this origin.
