Both are red and blue puzzle-style initials inside a box the height of a staff and writing line: the E is filled in with red foliate ornaments and on a pale background (possibly yellow), while for I red and blue leaf-like decoration fills a rectangular box. A, for the verse "Ad annuntiandum", is in black and white penwork.
