History

Origin

On the basis of dialectal features Biemans concludes that the manuscript was probably copied in the south-eastern part of the county of Flanders.

Provenance

The host volume with the fragment was kept by the church of Merksplas until 1965, when it was transferred to the State Archives at Antwerpen.

Remarks

The fragment was discovered and identified by Godfried Croenen in 1992.
