Current Condition
Fol. 2 is trimmed along the outer edge by 86 mm. From fol. 1 and 3 someone has cut a strip of parchment, from the lower margin and the outer margin respectively. Fol. 6 has been damaged by rodents along the upper margin.
Book Decoration and Musical Notation
Large parted initial, red and blue, with interior reserved spaces, plain initials in red or blue, cadels often with pendrawings of faces and colour-stroked in red, rubrics in red.
Square notation, 11 staves of four lines in red ink.
History
The antiphonal was probably used by the chapter of Our Lady and possibly used in the church before it was broken up.
The 5 fragments were probably recycled and used as covers for archival documents belonging to the archives of the church of Our Lady of Aarschot and then later again removed. There are no indications on the fragments to identify what these former host volumes could have been.
