General Information
Printed italic type for text, with rubrics in red; musical notation printed separately in black on red staves
Two non-contiguous printed leaves, fragmentary remains of a larger Venetian liturgical book, likely a gradual or combined gradual/antiphoner printed for ecclesiastical use in the later 17th century. Contents include chants for Maundy Thursday (pp. 199–200) and Low Sunday/Easter Octave (pp. 247–248). The leaves are rubricated, with hand-colored initials added post-printing.
Book Decoration and Musical Notation
Rubrication throughout, with hand-colored initials (red, occasionally blue or green wash) marking chant incipits and liturgical divisions.
Printed black square notation on red four-line staves (tetragrams). Chants laid out with psalm-tone incipits indicated; modal cadences clearly marked.
