Origin

Written in an Insular centre, presumably in Ireland, to judge by the script.

Provenance

Provenance the monastery of Allerheiligen at Schaffhausen. The fragment was discovered in the 20th century in the manuscript Min. 25 (Schaffhausen, 1080-1096) and removed from the fold between leaves 7/8. The volume from which the fragment was taken has the fourteenth-century ex-libris: 'Iste liber est monast. Scaph.' (fol. 1).
