General Information
Northern Gothic textualis in one hand of medium quality. The form of a remains basically Uncial with a small head leaning leftwards which may occasionally extend downwards, but never touching the bowl. Both round and straight-backed d used both at beginning and within words, although the Uncial form is favoured. Right leg of h reaches below the baseline and under the left leg. Very short ascenders and descenders, but the tail of g is rather big and closed with a thin, straight stroke. Occasionally it nearly reaches the following line (“longanimitas”, fo.1r6). Shaft of t does not cross the horizontal bar. Minims end in a curved stroke to the right. Regular use of 2-shaped r after o, but rarely after p. Frequent instances of biting too. Tironian nota is narrow and crossed with a thin approach stroke. Other crossed forms include x and the abbreviation of enim.
